Gorge Trusted

Gorge Trusted is a directory built for the Columbia River Gorge: homeowners in Hood River, Cascade Locks, White Salmon, Stevenson, and The Dalles can browse vetted plumbers, electricians, handymen, landscapers, and other local pros by town or service category, and contact them directly instead of going through a call center or a national franchise reselling the lead.

A few years ago I helped my spouse launch a small landscaping business here in the Gorge. The marketing worked better than expected — we generated more demand than we could take on, and had to turn people away. That got me thinking: if a small local business could outgrow its own capacity from decent marketing alone, what about all the skilled tradespeople across the Gorge who are great at their work but have never had to think about being found online? Gorge Trusted is my answer to that — a simple, honest resource to help local service businesses thrive and help neighbors find the help they need.

The product itself is a full Astro + React admin/public app on Supabase (Postgres via Drizzle ORM), with a provider self-submission workflow, an admin review queue, lead tracking (phone-reveal clicks and contact-form submissions), and transactional email via Resend. It's live in production with daily automated database backups.
